Ciara, the Princess of new genre singing style was born on 25th October 1985 in Austin, Texas. Hailing from a military family she grew up moving around the country. Jackie Harris, her mother being in Air Force and dad Carlton in the army, Ciara spent most of her time in Germany, New York, California, Arizona, Nevada and Atlanta. Her wide traveling around the country and Germany coupled with her struggle in the industry has made her more mature and wiser than her age. She admits saying, "Throughout life I've experienced a lot more than the typical 18 year old has. And being in this industry makes you develop more quickly than a typical child would. You mature faster."

A 2003 graduate from Riverdale High School, she first tried to become a model but soon found out that her interests lay in a singing career and aspired to become a great professional singer. Thanks to Beyonce Knowles and her Destiny's Child. One fine day Ciara was casually watching television and suddenly saw 'Destiny's Child' perform on TV and decided to become a professional singer.
Remembering the incident, she says, "I remember watching Destiny's Child perform on TV one day. That's when I made up my mind: 'Hey I wanna do this". Taking it as a challenge, Ciara with her indomitable spirit and perseverance had set out to realize her dreams of becoming a singer.
